Our lead consultant, Dr Daniel Pearl, is an experienced consultant gastroenterologist with a passion for delivering bespoke patient-centred care. His attentive analytical style and partnership approach to patient management underscore his practice. He has developed subspecialty expertise in bowel cancer screening colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy / colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, clinical nutrition, advanced therapeutic endoscopy and is director of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme in Somerset.​​​

Dr Pearl was awarded his PhD for research into the science behind Ulcerative Colitis; this original research was published in peer reviewed scientific journals. He continues to publish clinical work, and has recently edited the Gastroenterology section of "the UKMLA applied knowledge test" published by Cambridge University Press - see LinkedIn profile.
