Ways to pay
Paying for yourself (self-pay)
Self pay patients can access up to date costs for outpatient consultations with Dr Pearl on the PHIN website, or alternatively by submitting an enquiry. Self pay costs for hospital treatment (including blood tests, endoscopy procedures and radiology tests) are available by contacting Parkside Private Patient's Unit directly. For both hospital treatment and outpatient consultations, payment is required in advance.
Medical insurance
Dr Pearl is fee assured with all major medical insurers (BUPA, AXA PPP, AVIVA, HEALIX, VITALITY, WPA, CIGNA and their affiliates). This means his charges are in line with insurer's recommendations. Please be aware that you are responsible for any excess costs that your insurer does not cover, just like any insurance policy. We will ask for your insurance membership number and authorisation code when you book.

Frequently asked questions
I don’t have any symptoms. Can I still book an appointment?
Yes, If you have a condition affecting your gastro-intestinal tract, we would be happy to hear from you to discuss your healthcare needs.
Can I self-refer?
Yes, you can provisionally arrange an appointment, but this would need to be supported by a referral letter from a registered healthcare professional such as your GP for us to be able to confirm your appointment.
I am on an NHS waiting list for a procedure. Would I be able to ask for the procedure to be carried out privately?
Yes, if you are on a waiting list for an endoscopic test, we would be happy to hear from you. It may be necessary to review you as an outpatient in one of our private clinics to ensure suitability for one of our private lists.
I am under the care of a consultant and would like a second opinion. Is this possible?
Yes, we could offer a second opinion. However, it is important to note that it is considered best practice only to be under one doctor for a condition at any time (unless the condition mandates multi-professional involvement). There is no guarantee that one specialist would put into place the plan that another specialist has offered.
Do you see paediatric patients?
The transition between adolescence and adulthood is an area where paediatric doctors and adult gastroenterologists frequently co-manage patients, however Dr Pearl is not a registered paediatric gastroenterologist.
